JOLT at I am SKIM Talks

JOLT was delighted to join Jay Kama Fredrick at City Hall where she launched SkimTalks, TearTheVeil book reading and signing.

Jacqueline Onalo, JOLT Founder was an expert panelist and shared her insights on why victims are sometimes failed by the courts, the need for individual and collective responsibility in accessing justice, supporting survivors of sexual crimes and how we can give power back to survivors.

Host Jay Kamara-Fredrick brought together a stellar group of activists including:

Susan Bookbinder (Journalist)

Jo Andrews ( Campaigner for Legislative Change)

Claire Waxman ( Victims Commissioner for London) and

Sophie Linden (Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime) our host at City Hall.

The audience engagement was powerful and Hoda M Ali,  Julie Lalla-Maharajh OBE, Dr. Leyla Hussein OBE, Musa etc canvassed reframing this issue into one of power dynamics, the need for education and funding.

Speaker Charlene Wilson was there to support this initiative.

Congratulations Jay on launching Sisters Keep it Moving ( SKIM) in London.

Destined to be a space for dialogue, support and solutions.
